“ELF” SHUT Deck
Elf MPC (Carluci Bencivenga) × SHUT Skateboards
1970–2007
A true Bronx original, Elf MPC (a.k.a. Carluci Bencivenga) was a pioneering graffiti writer, visual artist, and cultural connector whose work embodied the energy and grit of New York City. A core member of the Morris Park Crew (MPC), Elf’s tags and murals left a lasting impression on the city’s walls—and its creative community.
In the mid-2000s, Elf extended his visual language beyond graffiti, producing fine art, sculpture, and collaborative designs. His deep ties to the Lower East Side led him into the orbit of the SHUT Skateboards family. Introduced by mutual friend and iconic NYC artist Steve Ellis—a longtime contributor to both SHUT and Zoo York—Elf brought his bold, Bronx-born aesthetic to a limited-edition SHUT cruiser deck.
Completed shortly before his passing in 2007, Elf’s deck design captures his raw linework and rebellious energy. The board now stands as a tribute to his enduring impact on street culture, bridging graffiti and skateboarding in a way few artists could.
Today, SHUT and Valet Goods are proud to honor Elf’s legacy by offering this rare and meaningful piece to collectors, skaters, and fans of true NYC art history.
